The 2012 AAFP National Conference of Family Medicine Residents and Medical Students will be July 26-28, 2012 in Kansas City, Missouri. This is a meeting that is near and dear to my heart, in this is where I first learned about my specialty and where I met some friends for life.
As has been documented on this blog in the past couple of years, the Family Medicine community has embraced social media as a way to tell the Family Medicine story, to network with peers, and to dream of the future of where health care should go.
In the past few months, the conference organizers (the official twitter hashtag will be #AAFPNC) have used social media platforms like a facebook Page, a twitter handle, and a youtube channel to connect with Family Medicine Resident Physicians and medical students around the country.
I predict that everything will come together in the next 10 days as Family Medicine Residents and Medical Students really start to get excited about the meeting and start using social media to generate some excitement and buzz leading up to next week's meeting.
This blog/website will also do it's part to help let people know about the meeting. I'll also share some memories that I have had with past meetings, and will share my story about how this meeting and this gathering of Famly Medicine advocates - how this really helped to shape my life. Stay tuned....
